Tuesday October 13, 2015 – Bayeux to Le Mont St Michel then to Dinan, France

We slept late and didn't get up until 8:15.  It was still dark outside.  We had a quick "petit petit dejeuner" (very small breakfast).

We loaded up the car and headed north to Arromanches.  There is a great Lookout Point there with a 360^o  Movie.  The movie was excellent and fortunately this one was in English.

We then headed back to Bayeux enroute west to Le Mont St Michel.  The approach was spectacular.  They have built a new parking lot and visitors take shuttles to the island.

We had a crepe for lunch in the city and then met Amelie for our tour.  She used to live there.  We enjoyed a three hour tour of the back alleys of the city and the monastery.  It was excellent.

We then came back down Le Mont St Michele a different way avoiding the main street filled with tourist shops.  We had a coffee and pastry at La Mere Pouchard’s, a local landmark.

Then we headed south west to Dinan in the late afternoon.

We had to take back roads to get to the major highways that led into Dinan.  Finding the B&B was an adventure with one way streets and construction.  The B&B was right next to the cathedral. 

Jerome met us and we settled in.  We had a spacious bedroom with a separate common sitting area and a separate dining area.  Jerome made us dinner reservations at 8:30 for Restaurant Les Trois Lunes.  It was delicious and the portions on each of the 3 plates we each had were huge.
